Supplementary School Mentor(s)

These two permanent posts are for 2 days per week, each post covering one borough. Funding is secured until December 2012. Please specify your preference of borough in your application.

We are looking for Supplementary School Mentors, educated to graduate level and with experience of teaching and current knowledge of the British education system and curriculum, to support supplementary schools within the London Boroughs of Brent or Westminster by providing mentoring and guidance towards quality assurance. These posts will encourage and aid the development of effective and affective relations between statutory and voluntary agencies and supplementary schools in the Project. They will also deliver and facilitate training for all parties, to ensure all parties are kept well informed and to take responsibility for ensuring the success of the project.

The successful candidate(s) will be responsible to the National Resource Centre Regional Strategic Advisor at ContinYou. The posts will be allocated desk space within relevant teams in each borough and will be expected to work closely with staff in Local Authority Children’s Services and Voluntary Sector Children and Young People’s Teams.
