Read about what the Chief Executives Stakeholder Group is discussing at its February meeting - and share your thoughts on community budgets and family recovery.
Westminster City Council has recently formed a Chief Executive’s Stakeholder Group, which aims to promote discussion and debate about issues affecting local communities. It’s attended by the Chief Executive of the Council, the Director of NHS Westminster, the Borough Commander of the Metropolitan police, and other leaders from the private and public sectors. I attend on behalf of Voluntary Action Westminster, and the wider voluntary sector.
The next meeting takes place on Thursday 02 February.
There are several points for discussion, where I’d welcome your feedback.
Queen’s Park is one of ten neighbourhoods to be chosen to pilot smaller scale community budgets, giving residents a “micro-level” say over the services they want to use. In Queen’s Park, the plan is to form a Recovery and Early Action Partnership to continue the Council’s work on family recovery.
What do you think about the family recovery model? Do you have any comments you’d like me to pass on?
The tri-borough area (Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea and Hammersmith & Fulham) is one of four areas chosen to pilot “whole-place” community budgets. The plan is to take forward up to a dozen projects under four main themes: families; work, skills and enterprise; justice; and health.
Was your organisation involved in the development of the pilot for community budgets in Westminster? Please get in touch if you were, and have any comments on the current proposals.
The draft terms of reference say that the papers for the meeting should be kept private, except with permission from the Chair. I’d like to be able to share papers from the meeting with the sector.
If you agree, please let me know, and I’ll pass your comments on to the Stakeholder Group.
