Henry Smith Charity: Small Grants

Grants of £500 to £10,000 for registered charities, with an annual income of less than £150,000.  Apply for running costs, project costs and capital expenditure that benefit people living in the UK’s most deprived areas.

The Henry Smith Charity Small Grants programme offers grants of up to £10,000 a year for projects that benefit people living in the most deprived areas (the bottom third in the national indices of deprivation).

What can you apply for?

Grants can be used towards running costs (including core costs and salaries), project costs, or for one-off capital expenditure such as building refurbishment or equipment.

What are the funding priorities?

The Charity supports a wide range of work, including projects working with the following: BME communities; carers; disability; domestic and sexual violence; drugs, alcohol and substance misuse; family services; homelessness; mental health; older people; refugees and asylum seekers; and young people.

Who can apply?

  • You need to be a registered charity for at least two years
  • With a yearly income of £150,000 or less
