The Westminster Capacitybuilders' Consortium is a network of second tier and frontline voluntary and community organisations and public sector bodies.
The consortium supports the voluntary and community sector to be independent, influential, skilled, thriving, entrepreneurial, coordinated in its joint efforts, as well as to meet national and London-wide standards to assure quality of services.
Current members are as follows:
The consortium meets 4-5 times per year and agrees how to jointly tackle emerging needs for the voluntary and community sector In Westminster.
Recent successes include the joint application to the Big Lottery to provide advanced level organisational development services and wider engagement with the VCS (this guide is funded through this project!); co-ordinated efforts to address emerging needs of the sector in the recession (see the VAW website for a copy of “The Recession Yet to Come” – a report that details this work); and a jointly delivered project to support volunteer managers.
