“Working with other Westminster charities gives us access to new funding, and reduces our overheads. By working in partnership, we’re able to bid for contracts that would be out of reach to us as a sole organisation.”
Working in partnership with others is one way to respond to the challenges of the current financial environment. If you’re interested in meeting other organisations working locally, or exploring opportunities to work in partnership with others, we can help.
We run the Consortium Network for organisations that want to explore opportunities for working in partnership with others. The Network organises workshops where members can explore opportunities for consortia working; meet commissioners; and get involved in service specification development. Members also receive regular information updates and access to profiles of member organisations.
Through the Consortia Development Network we take an active role in brokering local partnerships to make joint bids for grant funding, or public service delivery contracts. Sometimes we get involved as a delivery partner or where appropriate, a lead agent. But more often, our role is to bring organisations together around a theme, facilitate the steps and processes of forming consortia, developing bids, and to support bid-writing processes.

The WCN meets three times a year at special networking events, typically attracting over 80 voluntary and community sector attendees. Networking events include guest speakers, workshops and seminars. The WCN also supports representatives on the Westminster City Partnership Stakeholder Group, the Children’s Board and the newly established Health and Wellbeing Board.
