Before you apply, you need to plan your event, and get all the necessary permits and insurances arranged.

If you’re planning a street party, you need to get permission from the Council to close the road. You might also need to get a “Temporary Events Notice” from the Council if you are planning to sell alcohol at your event, to have live entertainment, or to serve late-night refreshments.

You'll also need to arrange public liability insurance.

It can take a few weeks to sort out permissions, so it’s important to start on this well before the deadline.
