Community Cash grants offers from £500 to £1,000 for small groups working with disadvantaged people. Apply by 5 March 2010.
To apply, your group needs to:
- be working in a disadvantaged or deprived area within London;
- have an income of less that £50,000 (in the last year);
- be run by local people; and
- have a sustained beneficial impact on the lives of people who are excluded or disadvantaged due to low income, social isolation, age, disability, race, sexuality or gender
How much can you apply for?
The minimum grant award is £500 and the maximum is £1,000.
What do you need to have in place to apply?
Groups need to have:
- A governing document (for example, a constitution, memorandum & articles or set of rules)
- An active management committee of at least three unrelated people
- Annual accounts or record of income and expenditure (or sound plans to manage your money, if you are a new group)
- A safeguarding policy if working with children (under 18) or vulnerable adults
Examples of the type of activities that can be funded
- Parent and toddler Groups
- Dad and lads groups
- Equipment and material for youth groups or older people’s groups
- Community festivals
- Befriending for older isolated people
- Lunch Clubs
- Committee and volunteer/staff training
