Day trips for isolated local people

A local social enterprise is giving people the chance to get out and about through a new calendar of visits to places of interest.

Westway CT, a local social enterprise that provides transport and training services, has designed a Days Out calendar for people living in Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster.

Research carried out by Westway CT revealed that people who use their transport services were interested in getting out more, to visit different places of interest, and to meet up with people from their local community.

When asked about what kind of trips he’d like to go on, George from St John’s Wood said: “I will go anywhere, on any day”.  There were many others who were equally keen to get out and about.

With the results of the research in mind, Westway CT has designed a calendar of events simply called “Days Out”, which will be piloted during the next three months and made available to people living in specific postcodes within Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea.
