Free falls prevention workshop

Join Westminster City Council for a free workshop on preventing falls. 16 May 2010.

This one day course for health, social care and voluntary sector staff explores how to prevent falls, and how to help people regain confidence after the shock of a fall.

Course objectives:

  • Gain an understanding of the impact of falls, both to the individual and on local resources
  • To learn more about factors which may cause / contribute to falls
  • To appreciate the profound consequences of falls to the individual and to family / carers
  • To explore how falls could be prevented
  • To enable people to manage the risk of falling more effectively
  • To help people regain confidence and recover from the shock of a fall
  • To provide an opportunity to learn about the work of the Falls Team Gain an understanding of services within Westminster around prevention and treatment of falls, how and when to refer
