Free training: Identifying and Supporting Carers

Half day workshops on supporting carers.  For all staff working within health and social care services.  Various dates and venues in Westminster.

Carers Network Westminster is offering a programme of workshops for staff working in health and social care.

The workshops will cover:

  • What constitutes caring
  • The profile of carers  - hear the evidence for health and social inequalities experienced by carers
  • How caring affects health and well-being
  • Carers rights in law, especially around a Carers Assessment 
  • What carers say they need - hear from carers about their experience
  • What you can do to help
  • Where to signpost and refer carers
  • Identify relevant priorities within national and local strategies.

Aims of training

  • Help you recognise and support carers within your own work
  • Help you effectively signpost and refer carers to appropriate support
  • Enable you to act as champions for carer recognition within your teams

When and where?

Workshops run for four hours and are available in a range of venues across Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea.
