Freedom Pass renewal - 31st March deadline

The Freedom Pass allows Westminster residents aged 60 plus, or who have a disability, to travel for free on London's public transport, including the tube, buses, trains and trams.

Freedom Pass changes

Freedom Pass cards will be re-issued in spring 2010, which means you will have to apply for a new one between January and March 2010. This is important as your existing card will become invalid after March 31st 2010. These new photocards will take up to ten working days to be provided rather than being available immediately over the counter, so make sure you give yourself enough time to apply for yours.

How to renew your pass

You will need to go into your local post office with the following documents:

  • a completed application form (available from your post office)
  • two forms of identification: one to prove your age (eg a driving licence or passport) and one to prove your current address (eg a recent utility bill or council tax statement)
  • a passport-sized photograph.
