New men's health strategy: contribute your views

Consultation event to help shape men’s health programme for inner northwest London. 18 June 2012.

Inner North West London NHS is developing a men’s health programme, and wants voluntary and community organisations with knowledge of men’s health issues to get involved.

The health of men is an issue of growing concern. Men die up to five years earlier than women in west London and are far more likely to lead unhealthy lifestyles. Health services find it difficult to reach men, and men do not use services as effectively as women do. They present later with diseases that would otherwise be easier to treat – for example, nearly four in 10 men are not diagnosed with prostate cancer until it has spread.

Inner North West London NHS is committed to improving the health of men locally and is carrying out a consultation on men’s health to better understand the issues. This consultation will lead directly into the development of a men’s health programme.

Consultation event for organisations who work with men

Inner North West London NHS is holding a reference group for local organisations and service providers who work with men, and would like to invite you to attend.

The reference group takes place on Monday 18 June 2012, from 9.30am to 1.30pm at Lighthouse West London, 111-117 Lancaster Road, London W11 1QT.  Lunch is provided.

To book a place, please contact Leona Condliffe on 07801 436 940 or email

Can you help by circulating a men’s health questionnaire to your users?

Inner North West London NHS would also like to work with local organisations who can help them to disseminate a men’s health questionnaire to their client groups. If you think this is something you could help with, please contact Leona Condliffe on 07801 436 940 or email
