Equalities Partnership calls on people with experience of disability related harassment to share their experiences by 20 August 2010.
After the tragic case of Fiona Pinkerton and other disability harassment and hate crime incidents, the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) announced a formal inquiry into the actions of public authorities to eliminate disability related harassment and its causes. The EHRC has called for evidence from disabled people, their families or carers, disability organisations and public authorities to inform this investigation and help them make recommendations.
Westminster Equalities Partnership is co-ordinating the response in Westminster for the Council, Police and NHS and is calling for individuals and organisations to tell us your experiences. WEP is calling for groups or individuals with a particular knowledge of disability related harassment to fill in a brief questionnaire by 20 August.
This will enable a coordinated response to be made to the EHRC by 10th September. You can complete the EHRC downloadable questionnaire or contact WEP’s Policy Manager Oonagh Smyth on the number and email address given below.
